The Irish Red and White Setter is an intrinsic part of our heritage and sporting tradition and has a history going back to the mid 18th Century. The colour of the Irish Red & White Setter is most important and a defining feature of the breed. The base colour should be White with solid Red patches ( clear islands of Red colour ).

The Craigrua Prefix came into being in 1982 with the acquisition of our first Red & White "Snow Queen of Craigrua". Craigrua is now the leading kennel for field trial and working Red & White Setters.

Our dogs are worked and trialed on wild game; wooodcock, grouse, snipe, and pheasant.
